First Home Owners Grant

 The government grant for first home buyers who purchase a newly constructed home has been extended until the 30th September 2009. The Victorian Government have also announced they will be increasing the First Home Owners Bonus to $11,000 from 1 July 2009.
First home buyers who sign contracts to purchase a new home between 1 July and 30 September 2009 will be eligible for a one off payment of up to $32,000.
The grant is applicable when entering into a contract to build or buy a new house.
Buying an existing Home
First home buyers who sign contracts to purchase an existing home between 1 July 2009 and 30 September 2009 will now be eligible for a one off payment of up to $13,500.
For people buying an existing home this means entering into a contract to buy a home usually known as the exchange of contracts.
